Budget 2018: Expectation is for populist measures, says Mowat

With the big event Union Budget 2018 just a few minutes away market experts share what they expect and other macros that would drive the economy and market in an interview to CNBC-TV18.

Adrian Mowat, Emerging Equity Markets Strategist said the significance of he Budget has declined over the years, which allows the private sector in India to takeover growth momentum.

The expectations are for some populist measures and deadline for election in early 2019, so there is temptation to give away and maybe give the government flexibility to call the election earlier but that seems to be discounted in stocks and the research reports.
