Apple’s swanky ring-shaped headquarter which opened in September last year is proving to be painful for its employees as they keep running into its glass walls.
As per a Bloomberg report, the employees who work at the headquarter are often glued to their iPhone screen, not surprisingly, and walk into its massive glass walls in a distracted state. The staff tried to pin post-it notes on glass walls so that everyone is warned of their presence but they were later removed as they distracted people from the design of the building.
Reportedly, Apple staff had expressed their unhappiness with the new office earlier as well, complaining about the open floor plans. Some had even threatened to quit the firm if the workspace was not suitable for them.
The headquarter has been designed in a way to foster collaboration and cooperation among employees. Each employee has been given a pod as their workspace.
It is not just employees who have been unhappy with the company. Lately, the customers have also criticised multiple design flaws in the apple products.
The decision of doing away with headphone jack, MacBook's lack of ports, iPhone X’s multiple design and software flaws (hair getting stuck in the mute switch or in the small gap between the bezel and the display of the phone, multiple instances of FaceID fails, ‘green line of death’ among others) have come under fire.
Apple was also accused last year that the company gave a green signal to the suppliers to reduce the accuracy of the iPhone X’s facial recognition system to speed output of the phone which it disputed.
