Assembly Election 2023 Updates: As per the Election Commission of India, the BJP is on its way to form government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The party won 164 seats in MP, 115 seats in Rajasthan, while in Chhattisgarh it snatched 54 seats from Congress. The saffron party beat the anti-incumbency factor in Madhya Pradesh with Shivraj Singh Chauhan getting a resounding victory. It also wrestled Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh from the clutches of Congress.
Meanwhile, Congress has managed to wrest control of Telangana from BRS winning 64 seats and is slated to form the next government.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot submitted his resignation to Governor Kalraj Mishra in the evening following the defeat in the assembly elections.
Addressing workers, supporters, and party leaders at BJP headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the voters for the mandate. He said: “I am thankful to every voter for trusting us. Even in Telangana, people have shown support to the BJP. We are fortunate to receive so much love from our family members. It doubles my responsibility also,” he said while celebrating the party's victory in three states.

In Rajasthan, voting was held in 199 out of 200 constituencies on November 25 in a single-phased election. BJP is looking to wrest power from Congress, which wants to beat the anti-incumbency tradition and make history by retaining the western state. It will be interesting to watch the result as the state has not returned a government since 1993, as it kept alternating between Congress and BJP.
"People have accepted PM Modi’s leadership, his development model and his welfare schemes for the poor people. The re-election of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, along with the majority in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, signals public support for BJP and PM Modi's potential third term in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections," says UP CM @myogiadityanath on BJP's victory in 3 states.

In Madhya Pradesh, elections for the 230-member assembly took place on November 17. The opposition Congress was confident of overthrowing the BJP, which has been in power with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the CM for almost 20 years barring 15 months following the 2018 election, however, that now looks impossible with BJP ahead in 166 seats.
On BJP's lead in MP, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "It's a massive victory for BJP (in Madhya Pradesh). People's faith in BJP reflects in today's results."

Chouhan said, "He (PM Modi) held public rallies here and appealed to the people and that touched people's hearts. These trends are a result of that. Double-engine government properly implemented the schemes of the Central Government and the schemes that were formed here also touched people's hearts. Madhya Pradesh became a family... I had said earlier too that the BJP would get a comfortable and grand majority as people's love for us was visible everywhere."
