Saroj Khan, one of Bollywood’s most legendary choreographers, left an indelible mark on the industry with her exceptional dance routines over a career spanning four decades. She was the creative force behind iconic numbers like Hawa Hawai and Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, shaping the careers of many top actresses.

In a past interview, she once shared an incident where she was replaced by another choreographer for a song featuring Katrina Kaif, highlighting the unpredictability of the industry.

In the interview, the legendary choreographer Saroj Khan revealed that she was initially set to choreograph a dance number for Katrina Kaif in the film Thugs of Hindostan. However, when Katrina learned about Saroj Khan’s involvement, she reportedly requested additional time for rehearsals to perfect the steps. Due to this scheduling conflict, Saroj Khan ultimately lost the project, and another choreographer was brought in for the song.

Talking about the same she said, “Yes, I was approached to choreograph ‘Suraiya’, but then Katrina said that if is Masterji then I have to prepare a lot for it. And the makers didn’t have that much time, so Prabhu Deva came on board. I was summarily replaced with Prabhudheva.”

She further added, "Finally your work speaks. It does not require you to bow in front of anyone and ask for work."

Saroj Khan has choreographed songs including, Tabaah Ho Gaye, Tamma Tamma Loge, Barso Re, Nimbooda, Ek Do Teen, among the other hits ones.
