Abhishek Bachchan says daughter Aaradhya remains unaffected by divorce rumours with Aishwarya: 'her mother taught her not to believe everything...'

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has offered a rare insight into how his family deals with the constant glare of public attention, especially the persistent speculation surrounding his marriage to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

In a recent interview with PeepingMoon, Abhishek decided to address this question and revealed how their daughter, Aaradhya, has been raised to remain grounded and not believe everything that is being written about her parents.

Abhishek credited his wife Aishwarya for instilling strong values in their 14-year-old daughter Aaradhya.

“Aishwarya has instilled in Aaradhya a great respect for the film industry and for what we do. She has taught her that we are what we are because of what films and the audience have given us. She has an opinion. She is a very sure teenager. She has distinct thoughts which we discuss in private, and she has a wonderful way of expressing herself,” he said proudly.

Despite growing up in a superstar household, Aaradhya remains largely disconnected from social media and gossip portals.

“She is 14 years old and she doesn’t have a phone. If her friends want to reach her, they call her mother’s phone. We decided this long ago,” he added.

Although Aaradhya has access to the internet, her usage is strictly for academics. “She loves school and is more interested in doing her homework and researching,” he added.

Addressing whether Aaradhya ever encounters or is affected by online rumours especially those about her parents, Abhishek said she simply isn't drawn to such content.

“I don’t think she looks at that. I don’t think it interests her. And she won’t believe everything she reads because her mother has taught her not to,” explained Abhishek.

“Like my parents were with me, we are completely honest with the family. So nobody is ever in a position where they need to question anything,” he noted.

Abhishek also addressed long-circulating claims that he quit smoking and drinking when he learned Aishwarya was pregnant. Confirming the reports, he said, “I have stopped both of these. I don’t touch them at all.”

Married in 2007, Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed Aaradhya in 2011.
