Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are known for their adorable bond, often expressing their love for each other on social media, making their romance feel like a fairytale. Recently, an old interview of Priyanka's mother, Madhu Chopra, resurfaced on Instagram, where she reminisced about the moment Nick sought her permission before proposing to Priyanka.
In an interview with FilmyGyan, Madhu Chopra said that Nick once took her out to lunch and asked her the kind of guy she wanted for her daughter. She said, "Maine bola yeh yeh boxes tick hone chahiye. Mera hath pakkad ke kaha (Nick) 'Can I be that person'. Main aapko promise karta hu ek bhi aapka box untick nai hoga."
Speaking about her reaction to this, Madhu said, "I was so like amazed and unprepared. But I was very happy because he’s such a great guy. He’s like kaise batau describe karna bahot difficult hai as I barely knew him that time. Toh ek impression aata hai ki solid hai. This person is solid and so yeah I was happy very happy."
In the same interview, she also dismissed concerns about the age gap between Priyanka and Nick, emphasizing that it was irrelevant. She stated that both of them were good individuals who cared for each other, adding that she had never viewed their relationship from that perspective. She also mentioned that people would say whatever they wanted, but she was happy for them.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in 2018. The couple have a daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
