Bollywood’s beloved Bhaijaan, Salman Khan, has been a powerhouse in the Hindi film industry for over three decades. Known for his mass appeal, family entertainers, and clean image, Salman has built a legacy that generations of fans admire. One of the lesser-known facts about the superstar is his “no kissing on-screen” policy — a conscious decision that has intrigued many for years.
Despite playing romantic leads opposite some of the most stunning and celebrated actresses in Bollywood, Salman has always refrained from locking lips on-screen. While this has often sparked curiosity, the actor himself once explained the reason behind his choice.
In an old interview, Salman shared, “I’ve felt awkward when we used to watch films on VHS at home. Our whole family used to watch English films and when the main lead and the heroine would kiss on screen, you know, we used to feel awkward and turn around and start talking. That’s stuck in my head, so I’ve never done that.” His response reflected his rooted upbringing and respect for traditional values.
However, this well-mannered explanation got a humorous twist thanks to his brother, Arbaaz Khan. During an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show with Salman and Sohail Khan, host Kapil Sharma couldn't resist poking fun at Salman’s “no-kissing” rule. When asked about it once again, Salman cheekily responded, “Dekho kiss toh main karta nahi screen pe toh mujhe toh koi farak padta nai.” But it was Arbaaz who left everyone in splits when he blurted out, “Woh itna kar lete hain off-screen ki on-screen zaroorat hi nahi padti!”
Now that’s a statement that got the audience and even Salman laughing! While clearly made in jest, Arbaaz’s comment added a playful layer to the ever-mysterious no-kiss rule of Salman Khan. It’s these fun moments between the Khan brothers that fans absolutely love.
What did you think of Arbaaz Khan's hilarious take on his brother’s kissing policy? Was he just teasing, or did he spill a bit of truth? Either way, it gave fans a memorable moment to laugh about.
