In 1988, Kunickaa made her acting debut in the movie Kabristaan. She later starred in well-known Bollywood movies, including Nanu Ki Jaanu, Beta, Khiladi, Gumrah, Page 3, and Hum Saath Saath Hain. A video of Kunickaa from the 2018 Pakistani movie Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 went viral after resurfacing. She portrayed Kubra Khan's character's mother, and her on-screen spouse was played by famous Indian actor Kanwaljit Singh. When her work on a Pakistani project was revealed, fans were taken aback.

The movie was originally scheduled to be filmed in India, but after the 2016 Uri incident, it was transferred overseas. Despite obstacles, it debuted on Eid al-Adha and went on to become one of the year's highest-grossing movies in Pakistan.
