In response to persistent and frequently absurd rumours that she is associated with prominent cricket players such as India's Virat Kohli and Pakistan's Abdul Razzaq, Tamannaah Bhatia has finally spoken out.

The actress discussed how such baseless rumours have followed her over the years in an open interview with The Lallantop. She also talked about how she's learnt to laugh it off, even if it still feels awkward.

Tamannaah recalled how a picture of her with former Pakistani cricket player Abdul Razzaq from a 2020 jewellery store event sparked a lot of online rumours about a purported romance.

With her trademark humour, she quipped, “Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq! The Internet is a fun place. According to the internet, I was briefly married to Abdul Razzaq. I'm sorry sir. Aapke dho teen bachche hai (You have 2-3 children). I don't know about your life, but it was so embarrassing."

She also addressed equally misplaced rumours connecting her to Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. These emerged after the two shared screen space for a commercial. Brushing off the speculation, Tamannaah clarified, “I feel so bad because I literally met him for only one day. I have never met Virat after the shoot. Na maine unse baat ki, na unse mili hoon.”

Highlighting her discomfort, Tamannaah spoke openly about the emotional toll of being linked to people she barely knows—or hasn’t interacted with at all. “It is very awkward when the media links you to someone you have absolutely no connection with,” she said.

While she admits it took time to come to terms with such experiences, the actor now accepts that she can’t control public perception. “It takes time, but one finally accepts that there's nothing one can do about it,” she shared.

Still, Tamannaah remains conscious of how audiences view her work. “As an actor, it's important to be aware of what the audience think about your work… I keep googling myself from time to time… It has to have some impact and meaning in someone's life,” she concluded.
