Squid Game Season 3 faces criticism for the childbirth scene, a user writes 'broken ankle was treated as more painful than childbirth'

Netflix's hit show 'Squid Game Season 3' is facing criticism over a dramatic childbirth sequence in the show's Episode 2.

In the episode it is shown that contestant Kim Jun-hee gives birth mid-challenge and it has left many viewers shocked and many are criticizing the makers.

During a life-or-death task, Jun-hee goes into labour and manages to deliver her baby with the help of fellow contestant Geum Ja (played by Kang Ae-sim).

The entire sequence is shown for five minutes, but post that there is no sign of medical intervention, pain, or even post-delivery complications.

The scene from the Squid Game 3 has gone viral on social media and many users are calling out the makers for not talking about such an important scene.

“So no one’s going to talk about how she gave birth in five minutes? (sic)” one user wrote.

Another user highlighted the bizarre pacing of the scene: “Gihun made it to the final games twice. Junhee gave birth in less than 15 minutes, no bleeding, nothing, but her broken ankle was treated as more painful than childbirth. The baby didn't have diapers and was fed twice but still survived (sic).”

Some users also raised concern about the postpartum effects - like the placenta, the bleeding, etc They added that the character 'literally gets up and walks off with the baby like she just took a nap.'

One more user wrote: "Squid Game is legit fucking crazy, what kind of show has a kid born in 5 minutes? (Not a metaphor, the amniotic sac broke during a life-or-death game, and she popped out a kid;;)"

Further criticism has been fanned by the show's male and unmarried director, with many pointing out the absence of female viewpoint in producing such a vital sequence.

Squid Game 3 started streaming on Netflix from June 27.
