Sonam Kapoor celebrates and shares a glimpse of her Karwa Chauth 2024 with special mehendi for husband Anand Ahuja and son Vayu

Sonam Kapoor is all set to celebrate Karwa Chauth 2024, and she shared glimpses of her preparations on Instagram Stories. The actor posted a series of photos, showing her special mehendi design and expressing what she enjoys about the festival.

In one picture, Sonam re-shared a post showing several hands adorned with mehendi, captioned, "Karvachauth eve...mehendi done...thank you @kapoor.sunita (red heart emojis). @sonamkapoor, your patience, omg (tongue out emoji). Missed you @maheepkapoor."

In another photo, Sonam gave a close-up of her own mehendi, revealing her unique touch. The first names of her husband, Anand Ahuja, and their son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, were written in mehendi on her wrists. The design highlighted her family bond, adding a personal touch to the festive tradition.

The final picture showed Sonam seated in a relaxed pose, smiling at the camera. Dressed in a white outfit with glasses, she displayed the mehendi designs on the back of her hands. Accompanying the photo, she clarified, "I don't fast FYI but I like the mehendi dressing up and food... (winking face with tongue emoji)." Her candid admission highlighted her approach to celebrating the festival while embracing the cultural aspects she enjoys.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s love story began with their wedding on May 8, 2018, in a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony. They later announced in March 2022 that they were expecting their first child. The couple welcomed their baby boy, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, on August 20, 2022, in Mumbai.

Sharing the joyous news, they posted, "On 20.08.2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy with bowed heads and open hearts. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have supported us on this journey. It's only the beginning, but we know our lives are forever changed."

Karwa Chauth is a significant festival celebrated by Hindu married women across India. The day-long fast symbolizes love and devotion, as women pray for their husbands' long and healthy lives. The fast is traditionally observed until the sighting of the moon, which marks the time to break the fast. Though Sonam chooses not to fast, she actively participates in the festive rituals of applying mehendi and dressing up, embracing the spirit of the occasion in her own way.
