Sonakshi Sinha made her big Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg, which hit theatres on September 10, 2010. Today, as the film completes 15 glorious years, Sonakshi takes a moment to look back on her journey in the industry.
To mark the milestone, streaming platform Amazon Prime Video celebrated the occasion with Sonakshi by posting a series of clips and snippets from the film on Instagram. Their joint post was captioned, “15 years of Pandey ji, Rajjo and their Dabangg duniya #15YearsOfDabangg.” The nostalgia instantly took fans back to the iconic world of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sonakshi shared that the passage of time has been surreal for her. “Until someone reminds me, I completely forget that it’s been 15 years. It feels like I made my debut just yesterday,” she said with a smile.
She added that she approaches every film as if it were her first, and that attitude has been her biggest strength in sustaining her career. “I treat every film like my first film and I think that is what has kept me around also for these many years.”
When asked about the high point of her career so far, Sonakshi humbly replied that she doesn’t believe she has reached it yet. “I don’t want to say that anything has been the highest point in my career, as that is what I strive to achieve still, said Sonakshi.
The actress called her journey till now as wholesome, even though it was filled with ups and downs. “It has been a learning experience, and it continues to be the same even today,” she added.
Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha played the main parts in the 2010 film Dabangg. The film, which was directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora, Dhilin Mehta, Dhaval Jatania, and Hiren Gandhi, was a huge success and gave rise to two follow-ups, Dabangg 2 and Dabangg 3.
Sonakshi was recently seen in the film Nikita Roy, directed by her brother Kussh Sinha.
