Even though it was a typical weekday drop, Pawan Kalyan's OG movie kept doing well at the box office, staying steady throughout its first week. The movie directed by Sujeeth is already one of the year's biggest hits and is now trying to reach the Rs 300-crore mark around the world.
A Strong First Week
OG had a great first day at the box office, making over Rs 150 crore globally, including paid previews. People had very high hopes for the movie. Even though it fell a lot on Monday, the movie stayed steady in the days that followed. By the conclusion of day six, the action movie had made Rs 154 crore in India, or Rs 183 crore gross.
It has done just as well in other countries. After six days, OG's worldwide total is thought to reach Rs 275 crore, with sales of more than $10 million.
Setting New Records
OG is now the highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2025, beating Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunam. It has also made more money than Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 268 crore) by Aamir Khan and L2: Empuraan (Rs 267 crore) by Mohanlal. The next big movies to look forward to are Housefull 5 (Rs 288 crore) and the Malayalam hit Lokah Chapter 1 (Rs 290 crore and still going strong).
Trade experts say that the movie would easily break the Rs 300 crore mark by Friday. On Tuesday alone, it grossed nearly Rs 10 crore around the world. If it has a good second weekend, the movie could potentially make more than Rs 350 crore over its lifetime.
About the Movie
Sujeeth directed OG, which stars Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera, a former gangster who comes back to Mumbai to face a cruel enemy named Omi, played by Emraan Hashmi in his first Telugu film. Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Priyanka Mohan, and Prakash Raj all have key roles in the movie.
OG has become a worldwide hit because of its mix of mass action, beautiful execution, and Pawan Kalyan's powerful on-screen presence. This is another indicator that Telugu cinema is becoming more popular in India.
