Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently launched the film's promotion with an interesting appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, stepping into high-octane action mode as Noel Bisset in Prime Video's Head of State. Priyanka gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the film's production during her candid conversation with one of her favourite American TV hosts. She shared humorous moments, intense on-set experiences, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
She opened up about the light-hearted antics she was subjected to while filming, her attempts to establish a rapport and foster camaraderie between her co-stars John Cena and Idris Elba, and how those moments together influenced the chemistry that was depicted on screen. Additionally, Priyanka described one of the most memorable injuries she received while acting out action scenes: losing a piece of her eyebrow during a mission scene, all in the spirit of saving the world.
True to her reputation for fearless, action-packed performances, Priyanka embraced the injury with pride, even revealing an exclusive photo and calling the resulting scar one of her favorite souvenirs from the film. With her trademark wit, resilience, and dedication, she continues to prove there's nothing she won’t do to deliver a powerful performance.
Priyanka said, “The camera has a matte box, and I was supposed to roll on the floor and fall, and it was raining. And the camera was supposed to come in close to me. So the camera operator came in a little bit closer–I came in a little bit closer, and it took out a chunk of my eyebrow. Could have been my eye, so I was very grateful that it wasn't. I just put surgical glue on there, stuck it. Finished my day, because I did not want to come back and shoot in the rain again.”
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the action-comedy Heads of State features a powerhouse cast led by Idris Elba, John Cena, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with notable performances by Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, and Sarah Niles in key roles.
The eagerly awaited film, which promises to be an action-packed, humorous, and surprising ride, will debut exclusively on Prime Video on July 2. To ensure a broad audience, it will be accessible in several languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
