Nick Jonas is known for his chart-topping music, acting talent, and of course, being one-third of the Jonas Brothers. But recently, it’s his role as a father that took center stage when he made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The singer opened up about his and Priyanka Chopra’s 3-year-old daughter, Malti Marie, and her growing love for music — something that’s equal parts heartwarming and nerve-wracking for the proud dad.
“She gets it from her daddy,” fans have said, and Nick certainly agrees — with a slight dose of concern. Talking to Kelly Clarkson, Nick said, “It’s scary to think about as a parent, to think about all the things that I went through, that I’ve seen my wife has gone through in her career.”
Malti’s natural inclination toward music hasn’t gone unnoticed. Nick admitted that his little girl is already singing quite a bit at home. Clarkson chimed in, sharing that she too has similar concerns about her children potentially entering showbiz.
Having both walked that path themselves, the two artists acknowledged how tough it can be for children to grow up in the public eye.
Fans were touched by Nick’s honesty and his relatable parenting fears, especially as he and Priyanka continue to keep Malti largely out of the spotlight. His appearance on the show was a reminder that even the most successful celebrities are still just parents trying to do what’s best for their kids.
With music already a part of Malti’s everyday life, it remains to be seen whether she’ll choose to follow the same path as her talented parents. But one thing’s certain: Nick and Priyanka will be right there beside her, no matter what she decides.
