NCT’s Doyoung gets emotional during performance amid Taeil’s sexual offense investigation

While performing his song Rest, Doyoung became emotional and broke down in tears, affecting his singing.

SM Entertainment recently announced Taeil's departure from NCT due to his involvement in a sexual offense. This unexpected turn of events cast a shadow over the group, but the remaining NCT members have persevered with their schedules. Doyoung recently performed at his 2024 DOYOUNG CONCERT [Dear Youth] in Japan.

The day before, Doyoung made a heartfelt speech that gained significant attention on social media. He reassured NCTzens (NCT fans), telling them it’s perfectly fine to take a break from being fans and return when they’re ready.

NCTzens empathised with his struggles amid Taeil's controversy. Doyoung also shared a heartfelt letter on the Bubble app, apologising for the delayed message and the tears that impacted his performance.

In his letter, Doyoung expressed his apologies for being late in addressing the fans. He admitted to struggling with how to write the message, emphasising that he wanted to take his time to process his emotions. He waited for the right moment to communicate without distractions, apologising for the delay.

He expressed gratitude for the concerts and acknowledged that he cried a lot during Rest without realising it, feeling sorry for the fans who came to hear him sing. Doyoung emphasised that he will always sing his heart out on stage and asked fans not to worry about his singing. He promised to perform as much as his fans believe in him and expressed heartfelt thanks for their support.

Doyoung ended his message by expressing his belief that they will cherish each other even more in the future, wishing fans sweet dreams and restful sleep.
