Iconic Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma wows the Cannes Film Festival by wearing an alabastrine Anarkali suit. The ‘Mummy Nu Pasand’ singer was exuding grace and elegance. She looked like poetry in motion.
She represented India at the most prestigious and global film festival. It is like they say, “You can take the girl out of Punjab, but you can’t take Punjab out of the girl”.
For her Cannes debut, Sharma wore a beautiful ivory Anarkali suit and dupatta with stylish gold heels. She completed the look by wearing a traditional nose ring and maang teeka.
Sharma spoke about how it feels to be invited to the film festival, “It is an incredible honour to represent my culture and roots at the Cannes Film Festival. Being here is not just a personal achievement, but a victory for the entire Punjabi community. I hope this moment inspires others to embrace and celebrate their heritage proudly.”
Sharma, not only made history by walking the carpet but also by performing at the Bharat Parva, a celebration of India’s culture, cuisine, handicrafts and Indian cinema hosted by Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Shri Sanjay Jaju at the the French Riviera. The singer performed songs which included ‘Gud Naal Ishq Mitha’, ‘Ik Taara Bajda Ve’, etc.
