
Playback singer and songwriter Arijit Singh has recently announced retirement. However, he has clarified that he will not stop making music.
Arijit took to his Instagram and wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
However, he reassured his fans that he will finish his pending projects. The singer's last song includes Salman Khan's Matrubhumi from the Battle of Galwan. He also revealed that there are still a few unfinished projects left for the year that shall release soon.
He added, “God has been really kind to me. I am fan of good music and in future will be learning more and do more on my own as a small little artist. Thanks again for all your support. I still have to finish some pending commitments , will finish them. So you might get some releases this year. Just to be clear that I won't stop making music.”
For the unversed, Arijit Singh is also a singer, composer, music producer and instrumentalist. He kicked off his music career after he participated in the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005.
Arijit made his Hindi film debut in 2011 with the song Phir Mohabbat (Murder 2), which instantly became popular and is still a part of his fans' playlist.

Arijit has also given multiple hit songs, such as Tum Hi Ho, Binte Dil, and Kesariya, among many others.
The singer has also won several accolades, including two National Film Awards. He was conferred the Padma Shri in 2025.
