Singer Arijit Singh has addressed recent speculation about his musical future, offering clarity on reports suggesting that he might retire from music. In a statement shared with fans, Arijit confirmed that while he plans to step back from certain aspects of his career, he is not retiring in the traditional sense — and music lovers still have more of his work to look forward to.
Clarifying the rumours, Arijit explained that he will continue to release songs that he has already recorded or completed.
He wrote, “This message is just for my listeners, please don’t read and swipe right now if you are not my listener, it’s a humble request.” Expressing gratitude, he added, “Hello beautiful people! I just want to tell you all that I love you. Thank you so much for your kindness in this ruthless world.”
Clarifying the confusion he stated further, “The list of pending songs are not less you know. I will have to complete a lot of songs… there are so many unfinished songs, they are gonna keep releasing until done. Maybe through this whole year, maybe it will touch next year too,” he shared.

He also urged fans not to engage in debates or explanations on his behalf. “Don’t involve into explaining people. How many times will you?” he wrote, asking supporters to remain peaceful.
He signed off with “Jay Devi!” and later added a cryptic line which hints at the singer's retirement not being permanent: “Also, who knows what lies ahead.!”
Over the past decade, Arijit has become one of the most celebrated vocalists in India, known for his soulful voice and emotional depth across genres — from romantic ballads to energetic party numbers.
On January 27, Arijit Singh left the music fraternity heartbroken when he officially announced that he would no longer take up new playback singing assignments. Sharing the news on his then private X account and later on Instagram, he wrote, “I want to thank you for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on." He said that he is 'calling it off' and that it had been a 'wonderful journey' for him.
