Vijay Sethupathi recently opened up about what made his experience on the 2023 blockbuster Jawan so special, praising filmmaker Atlee for his thoughtful approach to storytelling.
The action-packed film, led by Shah Rukh Khan, became one of the biggest hits of the year, and Vijay’s portrayal of the villain Kalee Gaikwad alongside Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone earned him wide appreciation.
Speaking candidly about the project, Vijay Sethupathi shared what drew him to Jawan. “I like the way Atlee makes his films,” he said. “He knows where the scene or shot should rise and how to make it engaging. And he’s very confident about his scenes. So I like the way he works.”
But it wasn’t just the director who excited him. Vijay Sethupathi revealed that the opportunity to share the screen with Shah Rukh Khan was a major factor in his decision. “And then, obviously, it was about Shah Rukh sir. That’s all. Just for them only, I did that film,” he said.
For the actor, working alongside one of Indian cinema’s most iconic stars was both inspiring and motivating, offering a rare chance to collaborate closely with someone he greatly admires.
