Munawar Faruqui on Lawrence Bishnoi's hitlist? 

Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui is at the center of a serious security concern after members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly attempted to target him in Delhi last month. Following this incident, Mumbai Police have intensified his security as a precautionary measure.

A senior Mumbai Police officer confirmed, “We have provided him protection,” although they did not officially link the threats to any specific group. The threat to Munawar, who has gained further prominence by hosting Playground season 4, reportedly emerged when gang members trailed him in Delhi and even booked a room at the same hotel where he was staying for an event in September.

The plot was thwarted thanks to timely intervention by intelligence agencies, who alerted the authorities about the planned attack. Munawar was swiftly evacuated from the event and brought back to Mumbai under police protection, ensuring his safety.

A report by Times Of India revealed that the increase in security was prompted by specific intelligence gathered during an investigation into the murder of Delhi businessman Nadir Shah according to a source. The arrested shooter involved in the case disclosed that the gang had conducted surveillance at a Delhi hotel where Munawar was staying, with plans to attack the comedian. Munawar was in Delhi to attend an event and meet fellow social media personality Elvish Yadav.

The information prompted Delhi Police's Special Cell to act quickly, prioritizing Munawar's safety and communicating the threat to Mumbai Police, who then heightened the security measures for the comedian.

Although the Mumbai Police have not officially confirmed a direct link between the threats and the Bishnoi gang, they remain on high alert given the ongoing concerns for Munawar's safety. The situation continues to develop as authorities stay vigilant, ensuring that the comedian remains under enhanced protection while the investigation unfolds.
