Two alleged shooters from the notorious Goldy Brar gang were arrested in the capital city following a gunfight with the Delhi Police on October 2.
According to Police sources, their prime target was reportedly comedian and social media personality Munawar Faruqui.
According to India Today, the encounter took place at the Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road.
Both injured criminals are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The firearms and the motorcycle used by the two have been seized from the scene.
The two accused, Rahul from Panipat and Sahil from Bhiwani, have been identified by police as members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan organised crime syndicate.
Rahul was reportedly involved in a triple murder in Yamuna Nagar in December 2024 and had been evading capture since his identity was still unknown.
The police took swift action soon after they learned that the shooters were at New Friends Colony. Around three in the morning, a suspicious bike was seen on the Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road, where a trap had been set up.

The criminals started shooting when the officers gave the riders the signal to stop. Both were shot in the legs during the subsequent police retaliation and were subsequently taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The report also suggested that Rahul and Sahil had been planning to target social media influencer Munawar Faruqui, after they allegedly received orders from gangsters Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan. They had scouted their targets in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
