The first day of Goa Fest 2024 featured a riveting session titled 'From Setbacks to Comebacks: The Power of Persistence'. Acclaimed writer and film director Tahira Kashyap captivated the audience with her insights on resilience, as moderated by celebrity host and actor Atika Farooqui. Tahira shared personal anecdotes and professional experiences, illustrating how her determination and resilience have been crucial to her success.

Tahira's candid discussion delved into the unique challenges faced by women, describing how "women go through hardware upgrades a lot; every day is so different for women, every hour is so different than the previous one." Her reflections drew from her books on womanhood and motherhood, highlighting the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of women's lives.

When questioned about her multifaceted identity, Tahira responded with a smile, "My identity is no longer defined by my title, but by the relationships I cherish. I take immense pride in being known as a wife, mother, daughter, and Mrs. Kashyap. It’s the people in my life who give my existence meaning, and I’m humbled to be seen as a person, not just a professional label."

Throughout the session, Tahira emphasised that setbacks should not be seen as endpoints but as opportunities for growth and reinvention. She spoke of the numerous hardships she has faced, expressing profound gratitude to the universe for her journey thus far. Her unwavering faith has been a pillar of strength, enabling her to overcome obstacles and remain resilient. Recognising that every individual's life is unique, she acknowledged that everyone encounters challenges but it is their faith that helps them persevere. "I am acknowledging ki yeh mera kaam hai, mujhe yahan par aana hai... This is also a part of me and I want to respect this commitment. And I will go for this show tomorrow... That's what I am working towards. Kamre main aao aur confidently aao. 'Haan main aayi hoon. Mujhe ghanta fark nahi padta ki ghar mein rashan hai ki nahi.'" she said.

Tahira's commitment to storytelling is evident in her determination to create meaningful and dynamic female protagonists who drive the narrative forward. She vowed that her characters would not be sidelined but would play central roles in her stories. This personal commitment to growth and self-improvement drives her work, as she continues to embrace the challenges ahead, knowing that her perspective and journey shape her path.
