Aayush Sharma, an actor known for his role in the film ‘Loveyatri’, recently shared a glimpse into his humble beginnings before his break in Bollywood. Starting out with big dreams and a small role, Aayush revealed that he was once a background dancer in the popular song ‘Dilliwali Girlfriend’ from the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.

In an intimate chat with a media outlet, Aayush recalled his first visit to Mehboob Studios, where he was part of the 300-400 strong crowd of background dancers for a song featuring stars like Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor.

He reminisced, “The first time I came to Mehboob Studios was for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Someone asked me, "Why are you working as a background dancer?" I said that I wanted to see what a film set looks like and to see how the shoots happen. I couldn’t find a job as Assistant Director. At one point, I wanted to become a casting director, thinking that I could get on the set through this. I remember that I had a shoot for YJHD at Mehboob Studios. It was a beautiful moment as there were 300-400 background dancers and I was one of them. Then I saw Manish Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and then I saw Ranbir Kapoor entering the set for the Dilliwali girlfriend song shoot.”

He went on to discuss his audition experiences, where he once auditioned with only Rs. 20 in his pocket. Aayush shared a bittersweet reflection on how he holds onto his memories, including the irony of being rejected by some casting directors who now praise his work without recalling their initial dismissal.

Aayush also mentioned a particularly harsh encounter during an audition where a director bluntly told him to leave. Despite such setbacks, he has managed to carve a niche for himself in the film industry.
Currently, Aayush is actively involved in promoting his upcoming action movie ‘Ruslaan’, directed by Karan L Butani. The film promises to be an exciting venture and also features Jagapathi Babu, Sushrii Mishraa, and Vidya Malavade in key roles.

His journey reflects the grit and determination required to make it in the competitive world of Bollywood, from blending into the backdrop of a dance number to leading roles in cinema. It's a story of perseverance, the highs and lows of chasing a dream, and ultimately, the sweet taste of success as he looks forward to his new film ‘Ruslaan’.
