'Mr and Mrs Mahi' box office collection Day 2: Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's film crosses Rs 11.25 crore

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's latest film, 'Mr and Mrs Mahi', has garnered impressive numbers at the box office on its second day. According to a report by Sacnilk, the sports drama earned Rs 4.50 crore on its second day, bringing the film’s total earnings to Rs 11.25 crore.

The film had a promising start earning Rs 6.75 crore on its opening day. However, there was a slight dip on day two, with early estimates indicating a collection of Rs 4.50 crore net in India. It maintained a 20.13% occupancy rate for its Hindi version on Saturday.

The film has received mixed reviews from critics. Despite the mixed critical reception, 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' has managed to attract audiences, showcasing the strong performances of its leads and an engaging storyline. Fans of Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have responded positively to the film, contributing to its steady box office performance.

Ahead of the film's release, Janhvi Kapoor shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the set on Instagram. In the clip, dressed as her character, Janhvi interacts playfully with the cameraman, signaling him to stop filming and sharing lighthearted moments. She teases, “Kya hai? [What?]”, “Ho gya na? [It is done, right?]”, and “Aaj ke liye itna hi footage milega [That's all the footage you'll get for today.]”. Later, she shifts to a more serious tone, asking, “I wanna know what you are capturing?” and “kitna close up lega? [How much of a close-up shot are you going to take?]”. Towards the end, she mentions a self-written poem she prefers not to be recorded.

Accompanying the post, Janhvi wrote, “I was clearly losing my mind on set on most days…#MrandMrsMahi out tomorrow book your tickets now!”

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the movie tells the compelling story of Mahima, a doctor who marries a failed but talented cricketer named Mahendra. Over time, Mahendra recognises his wife's talent in cricket and decides to train her to become a professional player. The film also stars Zarina Wahab, Rajesh Sharma, and Kumud Mishra in significant roles. 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' is a joint production by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions.

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor has several projects lined up, including 'Ulajh' and the Telugu film 'Devara: Part 1' alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan. She will also reunite with Varun Dhawan for Shashank Khaitaan’s 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari'.
