The sequel of hit comedy horror film ‘Stree’ will soon hit the screens. The movie’s sequel, which is titled ‘Stree 2’, will mark the return of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor to the screens once again.
Now, Abhishek Banerjee, who was loved as Jana from the movie 'Stree', in conversation with Times of India, has spoken about the delay in the movie’s release due to its grand VFX this time.
Abhishek Banerjee, who has been seen in many hit Hindi movies post the success of 'Stree', was loved for his role of Hathoda Tyagi in ‘Paatal Lok’. He further revealed that they have shot for the movie and they had fun shooting with Aparshakti Khurana, Shraddha Kapoor in Chanderi.
“We are working on the post-production of the film. The VFX will take a lot of time. The director of the film Amar Kaushik is a perfectionist. He works on the film till the time he isn’t happy about it,” he told TOI.
Original ‘Stree’ released in 2018 and the sequel is expected to release on August 30 this year.
Abhishek further said that "people have accepted 'Stree' and are hoping for something big this time."
"'Stree 2' is also going to be bigger and double the kind of fun. All the actors are skin deep into their characters. I had a lot of fun with Apar (Aparshakti Khurana) and Shraddha. It was a reunion of sorts. I was telling my co-actors ki for me it was more of nostalgia as we landed up in the galiyas of Chanderi. It was my first film (as an actor in a prominent role). And first times are always special,” he added.
'Stree 2' is directed by Amar Kaushik and also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, and Aparshakti Khurana. Tamannaah Bhatia will be making a cameo in the movie. Shraddha Kapoor
