Kareena Kapoor meets Gulzaar saab

Kareena Kapoor Khan is feeling all kinds of grateful this week — and it’s easy to see why. As she kicked off the shoot for her next film Daayra, the actress had a truly special encounter on set: a heartfelt meeting with the legendary lyricist and poet Gulzar Saab.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena shared a few candid moments with the literary icon, who paid a visit to the set of the film — which just so happens to be directed by his daughter, Meghna Gulzar.

Dressed in her casual best and beaming with joy, Kareena captioned the post, “One for the books. Meeting Gulzar saab chalo for me sab kuch ho gaya (Meeting Gulzar Sir is everything for me)."

Earlier, she announced the start of filming for Daayra, calling it the first day of her 68th film. In a behind-the-scenes video shared on social media, she offered fans a glimpse into months of prep — from intense script readings to quiet moments on set.

The clip also gave a sneak peek at Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a cop in the film. He is obviously suited for a strong role given his sharp uniform and commanding presence. And yes — Gulzar Saab was spotted once again, chatting warmly with the cast and crew. Kareena captioned the video, “Day 1. 68th film. Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi …Send love and blessings."

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Daayra is being described as a hard-hitting crime drama that confronts some of society’s harshest realities. Co-written by Meghna, Yash, and Sima, the story explores the delicate balance between crime, justice, and truth — with Kareena and Prithviraj at the centre of it all.
