Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, who is garnering attention for his upcoming debut alongside Khushi Kapoor, recently shared in an interview that he had auditioned for his father’s production, Lapata Ladies, but unfortunately didn’t manage to land the role.

Despite this setback, Junaid has continued to pursue his acting aspirations, proving his resilience and commitment to carving his own path in the industry. He debted in the industry with Netflix, Maharaj.

During a conversation with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Junaid opened up about his experience with the audition process and mentioned, "Laapataa Ladies was a very different scenario. I did a screen test for the film, but Kiran just said, ‘Sparsh Shrivastava is better for the part,’ and I agree with her. He was better suited for the role."

Although he wasn't selected for the role, Junaid noted that the decision had no effect on his relationship with his stepmother Kiran, whom he described as a "very fun and warm person."

Junaid Khan also auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha and revealed that he had filmed 20 minutes of footage for the project. He shared his thoughts on why things didn’t work out for him in the end, he said "You would have seen me in Laal Singh Chaddha because I tested for it, along with Kiran Rao. She played my mother. We shot 7-8 scenes for the film over four days, amounting to about 20 minutes of footage. It was a test for me as well. Papa wanted to see how I dealt with the material. Ultimately, it didn’t work out, largely due to budget reasons. It was a very expensive film to put a new person in."
