Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 4: Akshay Kumar film passes Monday test, crosses Rs 100 cr mark

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's latest multi-starrer, Housefull 5, has managed to cross the Rs 100 cr mark at the box office. The movie, which was released worldwide on June 6, has passed the crucial Monday test and collected Rs 13.50 Cr.

The film, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh, is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

According to box office numbers tracker site Sacnilk, Housefull 5 had a decent opening on June 6. It collected Rs 24 crore on the opening day, followed by Rs 31 crore on Saturday and Rs 32.5 crore on Sunday.

Housefull 5 had a promising start to the first week and it earned Rs 13.50 crore on its first Monday. In all, the movie has now collected Rs 101 crore in the first four days of its release.

Housefull 5 had an occupancy of 19.78% in Hindi on Monday, June 9.

It is the fifth installment of the hit comedy franchise 'Housefull.' Besides Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nana Patekar, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff and others.

Recently Akshay Kumar wore a mask and was spotted outside a single-screen theater to seek firsthand information about his movie and how the audience felt about it.

Though the movie hasn't received rave reviews, it seems to have sat well with the audience, who were yearning for a lighthearted viewing in the theaters.

Housefull 5 clashed at the box office with Kamal Haasan's Thug Life which had released on June 5. Both the movies have been released during the ongoing summer Holidays.

Akshay Kumar was earlier seen in Kesari Chapter 2 this year and was in news for his legal rift with Paresh Rawal, who walked out of Hera Pheri 3 last month.
