The makers of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set for a global release on April 3, 2026, unveiled its much-awaited trailer on November 12.
The trailer opens with a glimpse of a miniature Bowser (voiced by Jack Black), who now resides in a shrunken version of his castle after being hit by a mini-mushroom in the previous film. While his rivalry with Mario (Chris Pratt) continues, Bowser seems to share a surprisingly friendlier bond with Luigi (Charlie Day).
The introduction of a new antagonist, Bowser Jr. (voiced by Benny Safdie), who aims to free his father from Mario and Luigi's control, causes the plot to take a dramatic turn.
In the thrilling action sequence that closes the teaser, Rosalina (voiced by Brie Larson) defeats a tall robot by using her magical abilities.
A follow-up to 2023’s billion-dollar blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this sequel dives deeper into the beloved video game universe, bringing back many familiar faces while introducing fresh characters and a cosmic storyline.

The returning voice cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
When the first movie released over Easter weekend, it achieved a record-breaking $166.4 million in its three-day opening in the U.S., second only to Batman v. Superman. Expectations are high that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will repeat — or even surpass — that success.
