Is Abhay Verma set to join Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan in the highly anticipated gangster action film King? The actor recently ignited more speculation by posting a cryptic Instagram story on August 8, 2024, taking the date ‘08.08.2024’ as a numerological sign to manifest his dreams. "No better day to manifest than today!" Abhay wrote, leaving fans wondering if this was his way of confirming his involvement in the film.

He also captioned the story with, "This boy came into the city of dreams; dared to dream and manifested things every single day for him and gave 100 cr in his first film & is getting to work with people he only dreamt! I wouldn’t believe it," talking about his journey in the film industry as a new and upcoming actor.

2024 has indeed been a monumental year for Abhay Verma, who has seen his career reach new heights. His great performance alongside Sara Ali Khan in Karan Johar’s Ae Watan Mere Watan garnered widespread acclaim. But it was his role in the horror-comedy Munjya, co-starring Sharvari Wagh, that truly solidified his status as a rising star. Despite its modest budget, Munjya achieved an impressive Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office, marking a significant milestone in Abhay’s career.

Following the success of Munjya, Abhay’s career trajectory continues to soar. Reports have now confirmed that he has been cast in a pivotal role in King, one of Bollywood’s most eagerly awaited films. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-produced by Siddharth Anand, King is set to be a major release, especially as it marks Shah Rukh Khan’s next big project following the success of Dunki, which hit theaters in December 2023.

While details about Abhay’s role in King remain under wraps, there’s speculation that he might be playing opposite Suhana Khan, who stars as Shah Rukh Khan’s protégé in the film. A source close to the production shared with Pinkvilla, "While the script is locked, the makers have also identified the shooting locations in India and abroad. The production team is now in the final stages of securing the entire ensemble cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, with plans to start filming in November 2024."
