2024 has been a career defining year for Abhay Verma. After a standout performance with Sara Ali Khan in Karan Johar’s Ae Watan Mere Watan, Abhay Verma captured hearts and box office success with the horror-comedy Munjya, co-starring Sharvari Wagh.
The film, despite its low budget, achieved an impressive Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office, marking a significant milestone in Abhay Verma’s career.
Following the success of Munjya, Abhay Verma’s success continues to rise. Reports have confirmed that he has been cast in a pivotal role in the highly anticipated gangster action film King.
Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-produced by Siddharth Anand, King is set to be a major release and marks Shah Rukh Khan’s next project following the successful Dunki, which hit theaters in December 2023.
While details about Abhay Verma’s role in King are still under wraps, speculation suggests he might play opposite Suhana Khan, who stars as Khan’s protégé in the film.
The plot revolves around Shah Rukh Khan playing a mentor to his protégé, Suhana Khan with Abhishek Bachchan set to portray the main antagonist of the film.
A source close to the production shared with Pinkvilla, "While the script is locked, the makers have also identified the shooting locations in India and abroad. The production team is now on the final step to get the entire ensemble cast in place alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, as they are aiming to take the film on floors from November 2024."
