The makers of Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, have announced the release date of the film with a gripping teaser video, on Monday.
Adivi Sesh and Mrunal took to their Instagram on May 26 and shared the teaser of their latest film Dacoit. The film is set to release in theatres worldwide on December 25, the makers said on Monday.
The caption of Mrunal's post read, "A reunion with ex. Bittersweet? No. Catastrophic? Hell, yeah! #DACOIT IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE ON DECEMBER 25th."
In an interview with Zoom, Adivi Sesh expressed that he was overwhelmed by the reaction and love of the people he has been receiving since the teaser dropped on Monday morning. “I am getting flooded."
Speaking about his character in the film, he added, "It's interesting to be able to pull off a rustic Madanapalle Telugu accent and then a rustic Hindi accent in two different versions of the same character. I'm glad people are enjoying the teaser and am really surprised by it as well.”
The actor also mentioned that someone had recently referred to the project as a modern-day Sholay, the legendary film starring Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan. He remarked that the project seemed to be heading in that direction and expressed hope that it would achieve similar success.

The film, which was directed by Shaneil Deo, centres on a vengeful prisoner who is determined to exact revenge on his cheating ex-girlfriend. As he devises a risky plan to trap her, the plot foreshadows an intense action drama driven by strong emotions, love, treachery, and retaliation. In addition to Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, the film also stars Anurag Kashyap in a key role.
Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang are producing the project, and Annapurna Studios is releasing the film.
