The well-known television pair Daya and Abhijeet from the venerable crime series CID recently took a fun break from solving cases to partake in something spicier and tastier. During their shoot in Satara, the cherished duo was spotted sampling the well-known Maharashtrian treat, Bhakri and Thecha, and their inner foodies came alive with each bite.
As they sat down to relish the rustic meal, Abhijeet couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. “Bhakri aur Thecha, Satara ka famous hai yaar yeh,” he exclaimed, clearly impressed by the authenticity of the dish. Daya, ever the enthusiastic companion, chimed in with, “Yahan pr kahin bhi jaao, Bhakri aur Thecha aapko sab jagah millega.” It was a true celebration of the local flavours, with both actors appreciating how deeply rooted this spicy combo is in Maharashtrian culture.
Bhakri, a thick flatbread made from grains like jowar or bajra, pairs perfectly with Thecha, a fiery chutney-like mix usually made of green chillies, garlic, and spices crushed together. While the spice level was undeniably high, both Daya and Abhijeet agreed that it was worth the heat. "Haan, spicy bhot hoga," they nodded in agreement, laughing between bites as they rolled the Bhakri into neat portions and dipped it into the flavour-packed Thecha.
Seeing their favorite TV detectives in a different setting, away from crime scenes and instead savoring regional Indian food like true foodies, delighted fans. Since then, the video of their culinary adventure has gone viral on social media, and fans have praised their relatability and simplicity.
In a recent development, Parth Samthaan has been introduced as the new ACP in an exciting new phase of the long-running crime series CID, following the tragic death of ACP Pradyuman, the iconic character.
Parth, who is well-known for his charismatic demeanor and skill as an actor, has added new life to the show, which has long been a favorite among viewers.
