Chris Brown has been granted bail by a London court, allowing him to move forward with his highly anticipated 2025 Breezy Bowl XX world tour despite facing serious criminal charges stemming from an alleged nightclub assault in the UK.
The R&B superstar is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, in February 2023. According to court proceedings, Brown allegedly struck Diaw multiple times with a bottle before chasing, punching, and kicking him with the help of another individual. The alleged incident resulted in a charge of grievous bodily harm.
Brown was arrested last week at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester after arriving in the UK on a private jet. Initially remanded in custody by Manchester Magistrates’ Court, the severity of the case prompted Judge Joanne Hirst to transfer it to a higher court.
In a subsequent bail hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Judge Tony Baumgartner granted bail under stringent conditions. The singer must post a total of $6.3 million in security, with $5 million required upfront and the remaining $1.3 million due within seven days.
In addition to the financial requirements, Brown must reside at an address disclosed to the court, is banned from contacting co-accused Omolulu Akinlolu and complainant Abe Diaw, and is prohibited from visiting the Tape nightclub. His passport and travel documents must be surrendered, with controlled exceptions for tour-related travel. Under the court's conditions, Brown's legal team will handle the handover and collection of his passport at each travel point.

Despite the legal complications, Brown’s world tour is set to begin as scheduled. The first show kicks off on June 8 in Amsterdam, with the UK leg starting June 15 at Co-op Live in Manchester. The tour will include performances in Cardiff, London, Birmingham, and Glasgow, before moving on to North America through October.
Chris Brown is expected to appear again in court on June 20 for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing alongside his co-defendant. A further case management hearing is set for October 24, requiring his return to the UK.
