Celebrated filmmaker David Dhawan is all set to return to direction with his next big-screen entertainer, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which is a romantic comedy fronted by his son Varun Dhawan, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde.

Originally scheduled for an April 2026 release, the film will now hit cinemas on 5 June 2026, giving audiences something fun and heartwarming to look forward to next summer.

Announcing the new release date on Instagram, the makers wrote, “Drama bhi hona hai, comedy bhi - kyunki jab ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ in cinemas on 5th June 2026.”

The update instantly caught fans’ attention, as many expressed excitement about David Dhawan’s return to the genre he knows best, a mix of laughter, love and family-friendly chaos.

Recently, Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde gave fans a peek behind the scenes with a funny clip that perfectly captured their off-screen banter.

The video opened with Pooja putting something in her eyes and joking, “Varun is making me cry.”

When Varun asked the makeup artist what tricks they were using, Pooja quipped, “It’s a secret. We can’t tell you.” The light-hearted moment quickly made rounds online, showing the easy chemistry and humour the duo share on set.

Back in May, Mouni Roy, who also stars in the film, posted a series of emotional photos from the set. She wrote, “If any of you understand magic & the theory of a dream come true this feels like that. Working with David sir was a life long dream... THE MOST. Ok now I’m done.”

Apart from Varun, Pooja, Mrunal and Mouni, the film also features Maniesh Paul, Kubbra Sait, and Jimmy Sheirgill in key roles.

Reportedly, the story revolves around a man who’s been turned down by several women but receives unexpected help from God himself leading to a charming mix of humour, romance, and divine intervention.
