Shah Rukh Khan has demonstrated once more how much he cherishes moving narratives. This time, the actor expressed his admiration for Homebound and gave the film's crew a heartfelt and generous shoutout.

His post on X (formerly Twitter) felt less like a casual endorsement and more like a genuine salute to a story that moved him.

Sharing his thoughts with characteristic warmth, SRK wrote, “#Homebound is gentle, honest and soulful. Lots of love and big hugs to the phenomenal team for creating something so human and engaging. You have won hearts world over by making something truly special!”

He also made sure to acknowledge everyone behind the project, tagging director Neeraj Ghaywan, actors Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, as well as producers Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta.

The actor’s genuine support boosted the film’s rising popularity. Fans and movie lovers flooded social media with their appreciation. They saw his praise as a strong sign of approval and thanked him for highlighting important, human stories.

But Homebound already had much to celebrate. Neeraj Ghaywan’s directorial is officially India’s entry to the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The announcement was made by N Chandra, chairperson of the selection committee, who revealed that the film stood out among 24 contenders in various languages.

Reflecting on the decision, Chandra said, “It was a very difficult choice. These were films that touched the lives of people.” He added thoughtfully, “We were not judges but coaches. We were searching for players who have made their mark.”

Homebound has already earned international acclaim with screenings at prestigious festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Cannes Film Festival.
