Actress-model and item queen Malaika Arora celebrated a milestone on October 23, marking her birthday with glitz, glamour and a striking cake emblazoned with the number 50.
Her sister Amrita Arora, close friend Kareena Kapoor and a host of other industry pals turned up with heartfelt posts for the 'Golden Girl'.
Inside glimpses from the party went viral: Malaika was clad in shimmering silvers and golds, surrounded by candles, balloons with a massive '50' topper on the cake.
Amrita posted a snap of the cake saying, “For all the years of being 50. You are finally 50 my beautiful sister.” In another message, she added, “Mallaaa, you are finally 50. Ugh, could there be a better 50-year-old!! Uffff I love you deep… What a night last night was… Magical!!”
Kareena’s note read: “Happy Birthday darling Malla. Golden girl, Golden birthday. Have the bestest one ever… love you.”
Looks perfect until social media users started digging in. A throwback image from Malaika’s 46th birthday (in 2019) resurfaced, sparking arithmetic chaos: 'if she turned 46 in 2019, that would make her born in 1973 and thus 52 in 2025. Yet the cake boldly proclaimed 50.
One Reddit thread shared a collage of the 2019 vs 2025 parties, captioning: “She celebrated her 46th birthday in 2019. That makes her 1973 born. By that logic her 50th birthday would have been 2023. But she celebrated her ‘50th’ bday yesterday. I mean, how? If you are gonna mention your age on cakes and all, then how can you lie? Peak clown behaviour.”
And the Twitter-verse didn’t stay silent either. Here are some snapshots of the reactions:
One user wrote: "Malaika Arora celebrated her 49th bday in 2019 & 50th bday in 2025."
