Netflix is all set to bring the timeless tale of the Mahabharata to life with its new animated series, Kurukshetra, which tells the epic from the perspective of 18 warriors.
The streaming giant released the trailer on Wednesday, offering a glimpse of the series that aims to capture the essence of this mythological saga. Along with the trailer, Netflix shared the caption, “Dharm aur adharm ke iss mahayudh se itihaas gawah hai, aur ab aap bhi ⚔ Watch Kurukshetra, out 10 October, only on Netflix.”
Season 1, premiering on October 10, delves into the inner struggles, personal rivalries, and emotional toll of India’s greatest dharmayuddh (war of righteousness), a war that tore families apart.
The series explores Arjuna’s agonizing moral dilemmas, Draupadi’s fierce vow for justice, Duryodhan’s relentless hunger for power, and Bhishma Pitamah’s wisdom, bringing the emotions and dilemmas of the Mahabharata vividly to life.
Conceptualized and created by Anu Sikka, the series is produced by Tipping Point under the guidance of Alok Jain, Anu Sikka, and Ajit Andhare. Written and directed by Ujaan Ganguly, Kurukshetra is brought to life by the talented team at Hitech Animation. Adding to the depth of the storytelling is legendary poet Gulzar, whose evocative words enrich the narrative and amplify its emotional impact.
