Three actors were detained on Thursday for carrying out risky motorcycle stunts on Science City Road the previous evening as part of the film’s promotional campaign.

A viral video showing a dangerous stunt performed during the promotions of the Gujarati film Misri on Science City Road in Gujarat,  has landed the movie’s lead actors, Tiku Talsania and Prem Gadhvi, in legal trouble.

The Ahmedabad Traffic Police have taken action after the clip sparked outrage online.

Three actors were detained on Thursday for carrying out risky motorcycle stunts on Science City Road the previous evening as part of the film’s promotional campaign.

Soon after, the Ahmedabad traffic police shared another video on social media showing the trio apologising for their actions. In the video, Tiku Talsania said, “If any inconvenience is caused to the people in reaching on time, we are apologising for it.”

Both actors appeared before the A Division Traffic Police Station on Thursday for questioning after being summoned in connection with the incident.

According to officials, after recording their statements, they were formally arrested under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act for performing an unauthorised road stunt that disrupted traffic flow. However, they were later released on bail.

The viral video showed the actors performing a dramatic stunt with vehicles right in the middle of the busy Science City Road, which drew a large crowd and caused a temporary traffic jam.

Senior officials from the Ahmedabad Traffic Department stated that the team behind the movie had not obtained the required permissions from the police or road authorities before carrying out the act.

“Performing such stunts on public roads without prior approval is a serious violation. After taking their statements, both actors were arrested as per procedure,” an officer said according to Gujarat Samachar.

Police confirmed that the trio admitted the stunt was done to promote Misri, which is scheduled to release on Friday.
