BLACKPINK’s long-awaited 2025 world tour announcement has created massive excitement, but not without its controversy. While fans around the world were thrilled to hear the group will be hitting major cities across Asia, Europe, and North America, the initial enthusiasm was quickly dampened by outrage over steep ticket prices for their opening shows in Goyang, South Korea.
Earlier today, BLACKPINK’s official channels revealed the pricing details for the Goyang concert. While premium prices were expected for a group of their stature, many fans were taken aback by the actual cost. The VIP BLINK seat comes in at 275,000 KRW (approximately $187 USD), followed by BLACK tier tickets at 242,000 KRW ($165). The PINK and R sections are priced at 209,000 KRW (about $142), with general seating options—S, A, and B—ranging from 176,000 KRW ($120) to 132,000 KRW ($89).
The price list quickly sparked heated discussion across social media and fan communities. While some defended the costs, citing BLACKPINK’s global reach, production scale, and arena-sized venues, others were far less forgiving. Many voiced concerns that the pricing was excessive and risked alienating younger fans and students who form a large part of the fandom.

Some fans also fear the ripple effect such high prices might have on the broader K-pop industry, potentially normalising expensive tickets for all major acts. Although others pointed out that the prices haven’t risen dramatically since previous tours, they still called the current rates “unrealistic” for average concertgoers.

As of now, YG Entertainment has not issued any statement regarding the backlash or potential adjustments.
Despite the controversy, anticipation for BLACKPINK’s world tour remains high. Ticket demand is expected to be overwhelming, and additional shows have been added to select venues.
