Even while fulfilling his mandatory military service, BTS’ V, also known as Kim Taehyung, continues to dominate global headlines, proving that his influence transcends his physical presence.
Known for his magnetic stage presence, captivating vocals, and undeniable charm, V’s impact on the music industry and his legions of devoted fans remain as powerful as ever—whether he's on stage or not.
According to Star News Korea, recent data from Google Trends reveals that, despite being away from the entertainment industry due to his military enlistment, BTS’ V was the most searched K-pop star globally during the first quarter of 2025, covering the period from January to March.
His name continues to generate immense online interest, demonstrating that his influence has only grown stronger. Google Trends, widely regarded as a reliable indicator of public interest and even used for political predictions, underscores just how significant V's global presence remains, even in his absence from the entertainment scene.
BTS’ V, recognised for his soulful tracks such as Inner Child, Sweet Dreams, FRIENDS, Winter Bear, and many others, dominated the Google searches in 71 out of the 79 countries surveyed, including prominent regions like the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
His widespread appeal is indisputable, showcasing his ability to maintain a global fanbase and cementing his position as one of the most influential K-pop stars. Alongside V, international pop icons like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and Billie Eilish also appear on the top 10 list of most-searched artists, illustrating the magnitude of his popularity.
Beyond his online search presence, V's status as one of the most admired figures in entertainment continues to soar. He has been consistently recognised as one of the Most Handsome Asian Stars, clinching the title in 2021, 2022, and again in 2024. Since BTS’ debut on June 13, 2013, up until April 8, 2025, V has remained a prominent and much-discussed figure in the K-pop industry, retaining his status as one of the most sought-after celebrities in the genre.
Even though V has not released new music or made public appearances recently, his search rankings are still remarkable. According to recent data, he currently ranks fourth among the world’s most-searched male pop stars, following legendary figures such as Drake, Eminem, and Justin Bieber. His ability to remain in the global spotlight without active engagement in the music industry speaks to his enduring popularity and immense fan following.
