Bigg Boss 19: Shehbaz Badesha's father sparks drama with statement, says ‘Shehbaz Shehnaaz ke dum par aaya hai’

Bigg Boss 19 has found its most unexpected burst of drama this week, and it comes from outside the house. Shehbaz Badesha, already one of the most entertaining contestants of the season, found himself at the centre of a storm after his father, Santokh Singh Sukh, entered the show during the Family Week episode, shifting the mood inside the house and igniting fresh debates among viewers.

Shehbaz, also known as Shehnaaz Gill’s brother, has been winning audiences with his humour, one-liners and easy charm. But the spotlight quickly moved to his father, whose appearance brought both nostalgia and tension. Santokh Singh Sukh is no stranger to Bigg Boss fans. His last appearance was during Bigg Boss 13, where he warmly supported Shehnaaz Gill and received praise for his respectful exchange with Sidharth Shukla. That memory still lingers for viewers who followed Shehnaaz’s journey closely.

Beyond his Bigg Boss connection, Santokh Singh Sukh has remained a public figure in Punjab. His political shift from Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party attracted attention, followed by a dramatic episode where he claimed unidentified men fired at him in Amritsar. His outspoken nature, along with his wife Parminder Kaur Gill’s popularity among fans as Mama Gill, has kept the family in the public eye long after Shehnaaz’s rise to fame.

In a recent interaction with FilmyGyaan, Santokh Singh Sukh addressed the criticism that Shehbaz entered Bigg Boss 19 because of Shehnaaz’s popularity. Instead of denying it, he delivered a blunt response that has now become one of the most-quoted moments around the show. He said:
"Shehnaaz ke dum par aaya hai toh aaya hai. Uska haq hai theek hai na uski bhen hai uska hai bhai kyo nahi. Bhai bhen hai duno toh theek hai na. Toh mai bhi aaj agar yaha baitha hoon toh apne bacho ki wajah se baitha hoon. Shehnaaz ki wajah se baitha hoon, Shehbaz ki wajah se baitha hoon. Toh agr mereko koi bolega yeh toh Shehbaz ki wajah se hai, Shehnaaz ki wajah se interview de raha hai kyo nahi."

Inside the house, Shehbaz too opened up about the frequent taunts he receives for living off his sister’s success. In a candid conversation with Zeishan Quadri, he said:
"I was not able to earn an audience like others. Real life is outside, and I have failed there. I have not been able to do anything. People often tell me, ‘Behen ki kamayi pe palta hu.’ Yes, I do. My sister gives me money, and I depend on her because I have no one else. Her fans also keep saying I survive on her money."

With Santokh Singh Sukh’s dramatic entry, honest statements and resurfacing controversies, Bigg Boss 19 has gained a new emotional and narrative layer. The weeks ahead are likely to see the Badesha-Gill family remain in discussion as audiences watch how Shehbaz navigates the show after this turning point.
