Nicole Kidman is all set to return to her role as Celeste Wright in the third instalment of the iconic comedy drama series, Big Little Lies. The makers have just renewed the much-awaited third season of the psychological comedy drama series.
Deadline has recently reported that the new season of the HBO series is officially in the works, with Mr. & Mrs. Smith fame Francesca Sloane coming on board as an executive producer. She will also pen the maiden episode. She will join David E Kelley, Nicole Kidman, and Reese Witherspoon as the executive producers.
The outlet has also revealed that Francesca has signed a two-year deal with HBO. This latest development on the series came after an indefinite delay in the production of the second season of her spy series on Amazon Prime Video. She is moving to MGM Studios from Amazon.
Along with Nicole, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz will also reprise their roles. The show was initially released in 2017 and was expected to be a limited series. However, the popularity of the series forced the makers to release a new season in 2019.
Meryl Streep also made an appearance as Mary Louise Wright in Season 2. It included, among others, Adam Scott, James Tupper, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, and Alexander Skarsgård.

Notably, Moriarty's book of the same name served as the inspiration for the first season. For Season 2, Moriarty then contributed original content. It is anticipated that the sequel will be published in 2026.
According to the outlet, she revealed that the next book will involve a significant time jump because the main female characters are now mothers of teenagers.
