Good Bad Ugly crosses 200 crore worldwide

Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is maintaining an impressive streak at the global box office, more than a week after its initial release. Premiering on April 10 to largely favourable reviews, the film has continued to attract audiences and sustain strong performance into its second week—something rarely seen in the current competitive cinematic landscape.

This action-comedy has now surpassed Rs 200 crore in worldwide earnings, becoming the first Tamil film of the year to do so. Achieving this landmark on its ninth day, the film now ranks among the fastest Tamil productions to enter the prestigious Rs 200 crore club.

According to the latest update from Sacnilk.com, in just 9 days, the film has raked in over Rs 205 crore globally, making it Ajith Kumar's highest-grossing film to date, surpassing the collections of Viswasam and Thunivu.

Of this, Rs 127.2 crore is from the Indian net collection. With these figures, the film has officially overtaken Ram Charan’s Game Changer (Rs 186.25 crore) to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year thus far. Next on its radar are Sankranthiki Vasthunam with Rs 255.2 crore and L2: Empuraan, which grossed Rs 264 crore globally.

The movie's strong word-of-mouth and star power are keeping it afloat despite a noticeable decline in receipts on its second Thursday, with a 20% occupancy rate reported in Indian theatres. Fans of the genre have responded favourably to its compelling story and intense action scenes.

The cast of the movie is a big lure on its own. Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, Prasanna, Tinnu Anand, and Raghu Ram are among its outstanding cast members, in addition to Ajith Kumar. Ajith is excellent as AK, popularly known as "The Red Dragon," a notorious Mumbai mobster who turned himself in to the police in 2007 in order to start a new life with his family. He is eager to reunite with his wife Ramya and son Vihaan, who have now made Spain their home, after serving eighteen years in prison. But when Vihaan is wrongfully linked to a drug case connected to an unexplained shooting incident, his hopes for peace are dashed.

With strong performances, a gripping story, and an emotional father-son arc, Good Bad Ugly continues to dominate the box office while winning hearts.
