Aamir Khan announces Sitaare Zameen Par release date

Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s most versatile and accomplished actors, is gearing up to celebrate his 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone in his extraordinary career. The actor, who has long been known for his commitment to diverse and impactful roles, marked the special occasion by celebrating with the media.

In addition to this personal milestone, Aamir is all set to return to the big screen with his much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, a slice-of-life sports drama, is expected to release in June 2025, with an official announcement potentially being made on his birthday, March 14.

According to Pinkvilla, Aamir Khan has dedicated over a year to passionately working on Sitaare Zameen Par, with the edit nearing completion. A source close to the project revealed, "Aamir Khan has been passionately working on Sitaare Zameen Par over the last one year and is finally set to bring his slice-of-life sports drama on the big screen in June 2025. The edit is on the verge of being locked, and Aamir is supremely confident to win over the audience."

The marketing campaign for the film will reportedly begin around the time of the IPL, building anticipation for its upcoming release. The official release date is expected to be unveiled on Aamir’s 60th birthday.

Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, is an official remake of the Spanish film Champions and focuses on the inspiring journey of Ishaan. Aamir Khan, who is both acting in and producing the film, also teased that it would offer a lighter, more humorous take compared to his previous emotional hit, Taare Zameen Par. “The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is coming up, but it’s ten steps ahead. Taare Zameen Par made you cry, but this one is humorous while making a strong statement. We are announcing it tomorrow,” he revealed.

Alongside his acting work, Aamir is also producing another project, Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, which will feature Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
