Each constituency elects one member to the Lok Sabha, known as a Member of Parliament (MP). The distribution of these constituencies varies by state and union territory. Andhra Pradesh has 25 constituencies, Arunachal Pradesh has 2, and Assam has 14. Bihar, one of the more populous states, has 40 constituencies, while Chhattisgarh has 11. Goa, a small state by area, has 2 constituencies. Gujarat has 26, Haryana 10, and Himachal Pradesh 4. Jharkhand has 14 constituencies, Karnataka 28, and Kerala 20. Madhya Pradesh is represented by 29 constituencies, Maharashtra by 48, Manipur by 2, and Meghalaya by 2. Mizoram and Nagaland each have 1 constituency. Odisha has 21, Punjab 13, and Rajasthan 25. Sikkim, a small northeastern state, has 1 constituency. Tamil Nadu has 39, Telangana 17, Tripura 2, Uttar Pradesh 80, Uttarakhand 5, and West Bengal 42.
