Opinion Poll 2024: BJP expected to win 10 of 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won nine out of 11 seats with a vote share of 50.7 percent

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may win 10 out of a total of 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh while Congress may win just one seat, according to News18's Mega Opinion Poll.

As per the survey, the NDA is expected to record a vote share of 57 percent while the Congress may secure a vote share of 37 percent.

Chhattisgarh has eleven Lok Sabha seats in its kitty, including Bastar, Bilaspur, Durg, Janjgir-Champa, Kanker, Korba, Mahasamund, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon and Sarguja.

BJP recently announced the names of all 11 people contesting from Chhattisgarh. The list includes Chintamani Maharaj (Sarguja), Radheshyam Rathia (Raigarh), Kamlesh Jangde (Janjgir-Champa), Sushri Saroj Pandey (Korba), Tokhan Sahu (Bilaspur), Santosh Pandey (Rajnandgaon), Vijay Baghel (Durg), Brijmohan Agarwal (Raipur), Roop Kumari Choudhary (Mahasamund), Mahesh Kashyap (Bastar) and Bhojraj Nag (Kanker).

The Congress party, on the other hand, announced the names of six candidates contesting from the Chhattisgarh in the upcoming general elections. The names include former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel (Rajnandgaon), Shivkumar Dahariya (Janjgir-Champa), Jyotsana Mahant (Korba), Rajendra Sahu (Durg), Vikas Upadhyay (Raipur), Tamradhwaj Sahu (Mahasamund).

Looking back at the 2019 and Lok Sabha results

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP won nine seats with a vote share of 50.7 percent, while the Congress registered victory on two seats, receiving a vote share of 40.9 percent.

The saffron party had bagged ten seats in the 2014 general election with a vote share of 48.7 percent.
