Prominent BJP leaders and ministers kicked off a viral campaign on March 4 by changing their X account profiles and bios to "Modi ka Parivar", in solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav's "Parivaarwaad" attack.

Union ministers and leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and BJP national president JP Nadda, were among the first to change their profile names on the microblogging site X with the latest update.

“Modi talks about dynastic politics, but what is dynastic politics? You (Modi) should explain why don't you have children?" the RJD leader had said during the party's 'Jan Vishwas Maha Rally' at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on March 3.

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla too quickly changed his name to Shehzaad Jai Hand (Modi ka Parivar).

"Ham Hain Modi Ka Parivar, 140cr log hai Modi ka Parivar, Main hoon Modi Ka Parivar", wrote the BJP leader on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter.

The development follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address in Telangana's Adilabad, during which he expressed, "My family comprises 140 crore countrymen. Today, the daughters, mothers, and sisters of the nation, along with every impoverished individual, are part of the Modi family. Even those without kinship are embraced by Modi, and Modi is theirs. With an extension of these sentiments, I live for you, fight for you, and will persist in working towards fulfilling my dreams with unwavering determination – My India, My Family."

"Opposition says Modi has no family but crores of people in the country consider me as their own and love me like a member of their family", he further noted.

Notably, this is also in line with the "Main Bhi Chowkidar" social media campaign on microblogging site X in 2019, which had been kicked off ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
