The Delhi Assembly Election 2025 concluded on Wednesday, February 5, with a voter turnout of 60.44% across the national capital. Patparganj is one of the 70 constituencies in Delhi and falls under the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
A key constituency, Patparganj saw a slightly higher turnout of 60.70%. Traditionally an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stronghold, Patparganj has been represented by Manish Sisodia for three consecutive terms. Now, with Sisodia opting to contest from Jangpura this time, AAP has fielded Awadh Ojha, a teacher-turned-politician, to take on the challenge.

In the last Assembly elections, the AAP’s Manish Sisodia won by a margin of 3207 votes. The BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi was the runner up securing 66956 votes. In the 2020 Assembly elections, Delhi had recorded 61.46 per cent voter turnout for the 70 Assembly constituencies.

The Congress party has won Delhi for three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013. The BJP has won only once. In 2013, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP ended Congress rule, with a short-lived minority government. The party has now completed its second consecutive term (2015 to 2025).
